ANR Young Researcher Project (2021-2024) directed by Gweltaz Guyomarc’h - Jean-Moulin Lyon 3 University; IRPhiL: “Peripatos. Alexander of Aphrodisias’ Quaestiones and Peripatetic Physics”.
The project combines philology, the history of philosophy and the history of science. It examines how the Peripatetic representation of nature and the science that studies it developed in Antiquity.

- To deliver the first sourcebook on Peripatetic physics, from Theophrastus to Alexander.
- To examine the Peripatetic physicists’ methods of scientific inquiry.
- To offer a new edition and the first French translation of Alexander’s Quaestiones.
The Research Logbook will be used to:
- Present the project, its purpose and work areas, and its team members;
- Announce the events organised within the framework of the project (seminars, conferences, study days); and
- Publish an updated bibliography on the project theme and details of the team members’ activities.
